LSU-Northwestern State game postponed

Eric Walker’s first start since 2017 is going to have to wait.

The LSU-Northwestern State game scheduled for Wednesday night in
Natchitoches has been postponed due to inclement weather and field conditions, the schools announced Tuesday.

The game will now be played at 6 p.m. on March 12 at Brown-Stroud Field.

LSU’s other midweek game, a home contest against Southeastern, was already moved up due to bad weather in the forecast. First pitch is set for 4 p.m. Tuesday instead of 6:30.

With the Northwestern State game postponed, LSU planned to pitch Walker against the Lions. The plan was scrapped when the junior right-hander came down with a stomach bug, LSU coach Paul Mainieri told Tiger Rag in a text message.
