LSU lands in-state four-star OT Ray Parker

LSU added another offensive lineman to its ranks when Ruston High School offensive tackle Ray Parker signed his National Letter of Intent to play for the Tigers on Wednesday morning.

The signing came as a bit of a surprise, as it had be previously reported that Parker had been taken off the board due to struggles with his academic status.

He also received offers from Tennessee, Florida, Arizona State and Louisiana Tech.

Parker is a four-star prospect according to 247sports, and he comes in at a height of 6-foot-5 and a weight of 270 pounds. He also has experience playing tight end.

He adds depth to a position of great need for LSU, which entered signing day with limited options at the edge-blocking position.

Parker joins defensive end Soni Fonua and cornerback Maurice Hampton as morning signees for LSU. The Tigers still patiently await the decisions of uncommitted Amite High School targets defensive tackle Ishmael Sopsher and wide receiver Sevonta Lee, who are scheduled to sign at 12:45 p.m.
