The junior cornerback will forgo his senior season and enter the 2018 NFL Draft, Jackson announced via a twitter post on Tuesay afternoon. The coaching staff has long expected Jackson would declare early and move on to the next level.

Considered one of the Southeastern Conference’s top cover corners, Jackson routinely matched up against the other team’s top receiver. He intercepted one pass this season and was credited with 11 passes defended.

Jackson is the fourth Tiger underclassmen to declare for the 2018 draft, joinging edge rusher Arden Key, offensive lineman Toby Weathersby and fellow cornerback Kevin Toliver. The staff is still awaiting decisions from running back Derrius Guice and offensive linemen Will Clapp and Garrett Brumfield.
