A number of sources are reporting LSU gained its 14th commitment in the Class of 2011 on Tuesday afternoon when cornerback Jalen Collins gave the nod to the Tigers and Coach Les Miles.
Collins, listed by Scout.com as 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds, becomes the second defensive back to pledge to LSU in the past week, joining White Castle’s Ronald Martin.
A transfer from DeSoto High School in Mississippi, Collins now suits up for state powerhouse Olive Branch. He was in Baton Rouge recently for the LSU Elite Camp where he undoubtedly impressed the coaching staff, including defensive backs coach Ron Cooper.
Collins is the third non-Louisiana resident to verbally commit to LSU, joining punter Dalton Botts (Moorpark, CA) and linebacker Trevon Randle (League City, TX).
Listed below is the Louisiana contingent of commtiments for the ‘11 class.
OL La’el Collins (Redemptorist HS)
RB Jeremy Hill (Redemptorist HS)
RB Kenny Hilliard (Patterson HS)
DT Anthony Johnson (O. Perry Walker HS)
WR Jarvis Landry (Lutcher HS)
WR Alonzo Lewis (St. James HS)
RB Terrance Magee (Franklinton HS)
DB Ronald Martin (White Castle HS)
DT Quentin Thomas (Breaux Bridge HS)
OL Trai Turner (St. Augustine HS)
OL Corey White (Capitol HS)

Where are the q-backs signees at. You would think we would be putting a lot of effort to sign one with a lot of potential. Go figure….
Let’s hope that the commitments are as great as the coaching staff thinks and hopes they are, and do not defect as some have in the past!
I keep hearing, that Les Miles is a good recruiter, why then is Alabama,Florida, and some other SEC schools recruiting better..If the other SEC schools are recruiting better, then of course, the other SEC school will play better college football, then Les Miles LSU football teams.
I mean come on, who is kidding who.
