LISTEN IN: Mike Detillier
Football analyst on Russell, other former Tigers

This week’s edition of Tiger Rag Radio featured college and NFL analyst Mike Detillier, who makes no secret of his readiness for the coming football season.
“I feel like everybody else,” Detillier says at the start of the segment, linked below. “It’s time to kick it off.”
Detillier talks with Tiger Rag Editor Ben Love and co-host Jeff Palermo about former LSU quarterback JaMarcus Russell and his latest setback. Russell, says Detillier, won’t get back to the NFL without a conduit, an avenue such as the UFL, Arena Football or the CFL.
Teams in the NFL aren’t interested.
“No one’s going to touch him right now,” Detillier says. “He’s become nuclear.”
Worse, Detillier speculates, it’s hard to figure out what might motivate someone with as much money as Russell has. The former No. 1 overall pick could prove to be the biggest NFL Draft bust in history, says the college and pro football analyst.
Detillier also talks about former LSU players in the NFL, including Early Doucet and Alan Faneca of the Arizona Cardinals. He also mentions Brandon LaFell and his chances of playing right away for the Carolina Panthers as a rookie.
