The U.S Army All-American Bowl is hosting some of the nation’s top high school prospects including four from the Bayou State in Reuben Randle, Barkevious Mingo, Joshua Downs, and Chris Faulk.

TigerRag.com caught up with Northshore (La.) High School product Faulk for an update.

“Everything is going good so far, but I’m kind of under the weather right now with a cold,” Faulk admitted. “I’ve had it since Monday, but I’m hanging in there. I think I’ve been holding my own for the most part, but I’m never satisifed with myself. That’s just how I am.

“It seems like everything is pretty much the same though except the players out here are faster and quicker than most of the guys I faced during the season,” Faulk added. “I just can’t wait for Saturday. It’s a wonderful feeling to be here and I’m so glad to be a part of this. I’m really looking forward to the game.”

One of the many prospects on hand at the game the class 5A All-State lineman has become friends with is Michigan native William Campbell. Coincidently, Campbell will be announcing his college decision live at the game on Saturday afternoon and according to Faulk the Tigers are amongst the final three.

“I’ve met so many good guys here at the combine, but me and William Campbell have become good friends,” Faulk said. “I think he should come to LSU. I know he is going to make his decision at the game and and I think he might pick LSU, but we’ll have to wait and see. He is down to three schools, LSU, Florida State, and Miami.”

Two other prospects who have yet to make their collegiate decisions will also be participating in the game on Saturday and like Faulk they too are from Louisiana.

“I think Reuben (Randle) and (Barkevious) Mingo are waiting it out,” Faulk claimed. “I tried talking to those guys a little bit about recruiting, but at the same time I didn’t want to over do it. I know they’re not out here for that.”

Faulk said they were all out there to bring home a win for the West squad.

“West by 14 (points),” Faulk concluded.
