Most of LSU’s commitments are lucky to attend one LSU game, but then there are guys like Chris Faulk who are fortunate enough to catch all of them from the stands. Faulk’s been in attendance for all of LSU’s home games this season and he will keep the streak alive once again this weekend when the Crimson Tide roll into town.

Before he takes the three hour drive to Baton Rouge, the Northshore High School product must first handle some business of his own at home on Friday night when his team takes on Slidell High School.

Faulk’s team could have clinched a piece of the class 6-5A district championship last weekend by defeating Mandeville High School, but instead they came up a little short, 14-7.

“They just wanted it more than us,” Faulk stated concerning last week’s heartbreaking loss. “It was a hard loss, but we still have more games to play. That game is over and this week we’re playing our cross-town rival Slidell.

“This is a big game for us because if we win and Covington beats Mandeville we will be co-district champions,” Faulk added. “This is must-win game for us.”

The 6-foot-6, 300-pound monster is also aware of another team that faces a must-win game this weekend.

“I was there for the Georgia game and like my team, it seemed like Georgia just wanted it more,” Faulk stated. “I wouldn’t blame the loss on any individual either. I saw it the same way as our loss to Mandeville, it’s a team thing. You win and lose as a team.

“I think this is a must-win game for LSU,” Faulk continued. “It’s the same situation we are in. If LSU wins it will move them up in the rankings and it will get them into a better bowl game.”

After the Tigers’ tough defeat to the Bulldogs Faulk met up with some of the recruits that were on hand.

“I saw Dyron Dye,” Faulk added. “That dude was big! I also met Josh Williford. He seemed like a cool guy and we exchanged phone numbers. I can see us becoming close friends.”

Like many of the other recruits that were on hand, the 4-star lineman does not see the outcome of any of the games this season having an effect on recruiting.

“I don’t think it will hurt our (recruiting) class any,” Faulk explained. “I think most of the guys look at it as a chance for them to come in and make the team better. That’s how I took it anyway.”
And as for this weekend.

“Once again they’re in the same boat as us,” Faulk concluded. “They have to come out ready to play ball and I think they will.”
