Tiger Rag Senior Editor Matt Deville was a guest on The Press Box Show with Jimmy Ott on Monday

A wild week kicked off on Monday when Les Miles greeted the media at his press luncheon as the Tigers get ready to host Nick Saban and the No. 1 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide Saturday night in Tiger Stadium.

This game has been two years in the making as Nov. 8, 2008 has been circled on calenders everywhere since Saban took the job in Tuscaloosa on Jan. 4, 2007.

To begin the breakdown and debate about Saturday’s epic showdown in Death Valley, Tiger Rag Senior Editor Matt Deville joined Baton Rouge area sports talk show host Jimmy Ott on The Press Box Show.

The Press Box Show can be seen on nightly from 5-7 p.m. in Baton Rouge on digital cable channel 113 and high definition cable channel 713.

Can the scenario be any more fitting than the ole coach who resurrected the floundering Tiger program returning to Tiger Stadium bringing his new team as the number one team in the nation, while his old team seems to be regressing back to DiNardo and Tepper.

But the odds-makers know that LSU has the talent-lade team and is primed to upset Alabama and send its former coach and team back to reality.

But here are the cold hard facts if you think LSU wont lay another egg as it did at home against Georgia

LSU will send out a good but young redshirt-freshmen quarterback against a Saban-defense, maybe the best in the country.

No matter how high the LSU team is, their defense is horrible.

In the end, i’m afraid it will be more the same for the Tigers.

Because we do have a RSQB who has not responded as hoped, and the DBs and LBs are inexperienced as well, lets give this team at leat another year before we say they have regressed to Dinardo and Tepper days.

Got something to say?
