Latest information on spring game, Tiger Tour dates

LSU fans will get a chance to win prizes, including two tickets to next year’s Alabama game in Tiger Stadium, on Saturday as part of the festivities surrounding the National L-Club Spring Game presented by Tony Chachere’s.
In order to have a chance to win prizes on Saturday, fans must fill out an entry form at any Baton Rouge area McDonalds, Academy Sports + Outdoors or online at www.LSUsports.net/springgame.
In addition to the two Alabama tickets, fans who register will have a chance to win the following items:
- One of 10 Tony Chachere’s tailgate sets
- Two pre-game field passes for the Spring Game
- One of 10 Taco Bell gift cards valued at $10 each
- One of four Academy Sports + Outdoors gift cards valued at $50 each
At halftime, two fans will be chosen from the register to win entries to participate in a football passing contest on the field in Tiger Stadium. The winner of the contest will be awarded the two Alabama tickets along with an ultimate tailgate experience hosted by Tony Chachere’s.
Other giveaways on Saturday include the first 2,000 fans through the gates will be given Tony Chachere’s koozies, while another 1,000 fans will be given Taco Bell koozies.
In addition to the prizes and giveways, fans will be able to enjoy a morning of family entertainment at Fan Fest, which will be held in Lot A at Tiger Stadium. Fan Fest opens at 10 a.m. and will feature live music, inflatables and face-painting for the kids, a variety of food vendors, as well as other activities.
The SEC Championship Celebration will start at 12:30 p.m. with kickoff for the spring game to follow. Admission to the spring game is free. Gates to Tiger Stadium open at 11 a.m. and seating will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The pre-game ceremony will also include recognition of LSU’s three 2011 national award winners - head coach Les Miles, and defensive backs Morris Claiborne and Tyrann Mathieu - for their accomplishments in 2011. Miles was named National Coach of the Year by three organizations, including the Associated Press, while Mathieu won the Bednarik Trophy as the nation’s top defender and Claiborne the Thorpe Award as the nation’s top defensive back.
There will also be a video tribute recapping the 2011 season with the ceremony culminating with the raising of the 2011 SEC Championship Flag in the south endzone.
The spring game will be played as a regular game with four quarters and the teams being split into a purple team and white team. There will be no television for this year’s spring game.

LSU announces 2012 Tiger Tour stops
LSU’s annual Tiger Tour, featuring head football coach Les Miles and other members of his coaching staff, will make nine stops this year, starting with Shreveport/Bossier City on April 23.
The nine tour stops have been condensed into the months of April and May with the last event coming on May 22 in Baton Rouge.
Miles is scheduled to speak at six of the nine sites, which includes Shreveport, Monroe, Alexandria, Lafayette, Houston and Thibodaux. Defensive coordinator John Chavis and running backs coach Frank Wilson will speak in New Orleans; quarterbacks coach Steve Kragthorpe and Wilson will speak in Biloxi; and offensive coordinator Greg Studrawa and Wilson will speak at the Baton Rouge stop.
The annual LSU Tiger Tour 2012 is presented by Capital One Bank, CST, 104.5 FM ESPN Baton Rouge, and the LSU National L Club. It’s a joint fundraising venture by the Tiger Athletic Foundation, the LSU Foundation and the LSU Alumni Association. .
Other features on this year’s tour include the Capital One Photo Area; the CST Trivia Challenge where fans can win prize packs courtesy of CST and TAF; and the popular TAF Silent Auction, which features memorabilia from past Tiger greats. There will be LSU merchandise on sale at the events courtesy of the LSU Alumni Store.
