Memphis scribe talks SEC football with TR Radio

Ron Higgins tells TR Radio how LSU coach Les Miles may have contributed to the SEC deciding to limit its schools to 25 football scholarships per year.

Ron Higgins of the Memphis Commercial Appeal joined Jeff Palermo and Ben Love on Tiger Rag Radio Tuesday night.

After the SEC held its spring business meetings a few weeks ago, Higgins tells us how the league’s football coaches will adjust to the new legislation allowing a maximum of 25 signees per year.

Does Higgins feel that attrition really was a problem in SEC football or was the legislation an overreaction?

After Steve Spurrier said players should be paid during spring meetings and several of the league’s coaches agreed with him, Higgins gives us his opinion on whether we may see players beginning to get paid in the SEC in the near future.

Moving on to the play on the field rather than the talk in the meetings, Higgins breaks down the SEC East in 2011.
