2020 QB TJ Finley commits to LSU

LSU added another talented, highly-touted quarterback to the fold… for 2020.

Ponchatoula quarterback TJ Finley pledged his abilities to LSU via a Titter post on Tuesday night, adding a crucial piece to the puzzle of LSU’s 2020 class. The 6-foot-6, 230-pounder picked the Tigers over reported offers from Arkansas, Georgia, Auburn, North Carolina, Baylor, Kentucky and others.

Finley is ranked as the No. 9 pro-style quarterback in the 2020 cycle and the No. 255 overall prospect, according to 247Sports. He completed  52 percent of his passes for 1,883 yards with 14 touchdowns and eight interceptions on a Ponchatoula team that’s in the midst of a tough rebuilding process.

Originally offered by former LSU offensive coordinator Cam Cameron, who was fired by Ed Orgeron, Finley sought out to impress the staff all over again. Matt Canada never offered, but Steve Ensminger did earlier this week, and now Finley is committed to his in-state school.

Finely is the third member of a 2020 haul that presently ranks No. 4 nationally, according to 247Sports. He’s joined by four-star wide receivers Darin Turner of Tennesee and Kris Abrams-Draine of Alabama.

Here’s Finley’s post announcing his decision:
